Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 January 2026
Agreement
By creating an account or using CubbyPost, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. Simple as that.
The service
CubbyPost provides email hosting, including receiving, storing, and sending email on your behalf. We provide IMAP and SMTP access and are working on a webmail interface. We aim for high availability but don't guarantee 100% uptime.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure
- One person, one account (no automated bulk signups)
- You must provide a valid recovery email during registration
Acceptable use
You agree not to use CubbyPost to:
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk email
- Distribute malware or phishing content
- Harass, threaten, or abuse others
- Violate any applicable laws
- Impersonate other people or organisations
- Overwhelm our infrastructure with automated scripts
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules. We'll always tell you why and give you a chance to respond before permanent action, except in cases of obvious abuse.
Storage and limits
Free accounts include 5 GB of storage. If you exceed your limit, you'll still receive email but won't be able to send until you free up space. We don't delete your data for exceeding limits - we just pause outbound until you're back under.
Custom domains
You can connect your own domain to CubbyPost. You're responsible for maintaining correct DNS records. If your domain expires or DNS is misconfigured, email delivery may be affected. We'll attempt to notify you of issues but can't guarantee it.
Data ownership
Your email is yours. We claim no ownership or licence over your content. You can export your full mailbox at any time via IMAP. If we ever shut down, you'll get at least 90 days notice and full export capability.
Liability
CubbyPost is provided "as is" without warranty. We do our best to keep the service running and your data safe, but we're a small team and things can go wrong. We're not liable for lost email, downtime, or damages arising from use of the service. Use common sense and keep important backups.
Account termination
You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@cubbypost.com. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. Inactive accounts (no login for 12 months) may be reclaimed after a warning email.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
